Thompson Talon Custom Knives was started in the 1960's by Frank Thompson. Frank was a husband, father, farmer, dogsled musher, blacksmith and eventually a knife maker. Having the forge on the farm let him create most of the tools he used from scrap metal until he decided to start making knives in his later years. The shop was slowly converted to a "stock removal" shop.

Vern Thompson, Franks youngest son, carried on the family trade after his father. Vern was a machinist and built some tools and machines we still use in the shop every day more than two decades later.

Vern later sold TT to his brother Glen over 20 years ago. Glen, also a machinist has been creating masterful tools ever since and has been instructing his nephew Jeff in the trade for last 9 years.
